As widely published travel and food photojournalists, we specialize in self-sufficient travel, tackling challenging trips to destinations off the beaten track so that we can create exceptional website content, and produce dynamic films, magazine and newspaper features, photo essays, and conduct rigorous, honest reviews of adventure experiences, tours, hotels and equipment for discerning travellers exploring under their own steam.
Having entered our chosen professions in our teens (a Journalist and a Cameraman/Editor), we’ve had several decades to perfect our skills and as long-term freelancers, are experts in establishing itineraries, stretching budgets, and embracing trips to places that no one else is talking about.
We love editors with a vision and welcome new commissions. If you haven’t worked with us before, we are always happy to link you with relevant, recently published work, and discuss what you need and how we can deliver.
We love gear that gets us into the outdoors and takes us far from home, so if your company makes products indispensible to adventurous travellers with children, we’d love to hear about them. As experienced users and reviewers of outdoors equipment, we favour products designed with a conscience; perhaps they are constructed from recycled materials, organically grown fibres, or sourced under fair trade principles. They might be designed and constructed without cheap outsourced labour, benefit conservation projects through percentage sales, or they might just be damn fine products that really perform and will last a lifetime.
Basically, if your product is good and does good, we are happy to field test it, review it and share our thoughts with readers. Any favourite pieces of kit that survive our punishment make it to the ‘gear we love page’. To discuss our review process, feel free to get in touch.
We welcome website advertising and support from ethical, visionary companies with products or services we think our readers might be interested in. Please contact us to discuss terms, ideas and rates.
